Understanding the AQUA Myrgorod DETOX Label

A bottle label can reveal much more about the water than might appear at first glance. We explain what the information on the AQUA Myrgorod DETOX label means, where the water comes from, and what its mineral composition can tell us.

1. “Natural Mineral Water with Added Carbon Dioxide”

This means that AQUA Myrgorod DETOX is natural mineral water originating from an underground aquifer and extracted from a well. Its natural mineral composition develops beneath the Earth's surface through interaction with the surrounding geological environment and rock formations. The term “with added carbon dioxide” means that carbon dioxide is added to the natural mineral water during production. However, the mineral composition of the water itself remains a characteristic of its natural origin. AQUA Myrgorod DETOX natural mineral water is extracted from a well 695 metres deep in the Myrgorod area of Poltava Region and is subsequently bottled directly at the extraction site.

2. Label Markings

(Symbol on our bottle) Certified EU Quality

This marking can be interpreted as emphasising the product's compliance with European market requirements and quality control principles.

(Symbol on our bottle)Natural Water

This marking highlights the water's natural mineral origin. For mineral water, its underground origin and characteristic mineral composition are defining properties.

(Symbol on our bottle) Mineral Balance

This marking draws attention to the water's specific natural mineral composition. The exact mineral composition of AQUA Myrgorod DETOX is indicated on the label, showing which mineral constituents the water contains and their respective concentrations.

(Symbol on our bottle) Protect from Direct Sunlight

This is a recommendation for proper product storage. Exposure to direct sunlight and heat may affect the storage conditions of the beverage. Therefore, it is recommended that the bottle be kept away from direct sunlight. The recommended storage temperature is between +2 °C and +25 °C.

3. What Minerals Does DETOX Contain?

The AQUA Myrgorod DETOX label specifies the principal mineral constituents of the water:
  • Chlorides Cl⁻ — 1,850 mg/L;
  • Bicarbonates HCO₃⁻ — 375 mg/L;
  • Sulphates SO₄²⁻ — 250 mg/L;
  • Magnesium Mg²⁺;
  • Calcium Ca²⁺;
  • Sodium Na⁺.

Chlorides Cl⁻

Chloride is a mineral constituent present in water in the form of a negatively charged ion. In the human body, chloride is one of the principal electrolytes and plays a role in maintaining electrolyte and acid-base balance.

Bicarbonates HCO₃⁻

Bicarbonates are naturally occurring constituents of many mineral waters, formed through interactions between water and geological formations. In water, they occur as HCO₃⁻ ions and are among the principal anions found in the body's extracellular fluid.

Sulphates SO₄²⁻

Sulphate is a naturally occurring mineral constituent that may enter groundwater through interactions with rock formations. In water, it is present as a negatively charged ion, SO₄²⁻.

Magnesium Mg²⁺

Magnesium is a mineral element naturally found in water and food. It is involved in numerous physiological processes in the body, including those associated with the functioning of the nervous and muscular systems.

Calcium Ca²⁺

Calcium is one of the most widely recognised mineral constituents of natural waters. It is an essential dietary mineral that contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth and plays a role in the functioning of the muscular and nervous systems.

Sodium Na⁺

Sodium is a naturally occurring mineral constituent of water, present as a positively charged ion, Na⁺. Together with other electrolytes, it plays a role in regulating fluid and electrolyte balance and maintaining normal nervous system function.

4. Total Mineralisation: 3,980 mg/L

Total mineralisation indicates the total amount of dissolved minerals in water. In simple terms, it measures the quantity of mineral constituents present in one litre of water.

AQUA Myrgorod DETOX has a total mineralisation of 3,980 mg/L, equivalent to approximately 3.98 g of dissolved minerals per litre.

However, total mineralisation does not refer to a single mineral, nor is it an indicator of how beneficial the water is to health. Rather, it is an overall measure of the water's mineral composition, while the individual concentrations of chlorides, bicarbonates, sulphates, magnesium, calcium and sodium indicate the specific constituents that make up this composition. The AQUA Myrgorod DETOX label therefore tells the story of the water in brief: its natural origin, carbonation method, storage conditions and distinctive mineral composition, formed deep beneath the surface of the Myrgorod region.
